Can Bankruptcy Get Rid of Credit Card Debt?

In many cases the answer is “yes”. Credit card debt and other unsecured debts are usually discharged in bankruptcy. However, there are exceptions such as taking out large cash advances prior to a bankruptcy and within 90 days or less of filing for bankruptcy. In addition charging high amounts of purchases on your credit card shortly before filing are not allowed by the Bankruptcy Courts.
